Power distribution& transmission civils
Distribution and transmission civils, cable works to 33kV and civil packages for substations.
Self-performed scope
11kV to 33kV
Flomar builds the in-ground routes that distribution and transmission networks depend on: open trenching, conduit banks proved by mandrel and CCTV, joint bays, thermally stabilised backfill, cable hauling and jointing, and the live cutovers that bring a relocated feeder into service - plus the above-ground assets: lightpoles, pillars and padmount substations. The published showcase includes cable works to 33kV and a civil and structural package at the 500kV Merotherie Energy Hub. Level 1 ASP accreditation supports the distribution-network scope.
What this includes
- 11kV to 33kV underground and overhead works
- Civil and structural substation works at the 500kV Merotherie Energy Hub
- Open trenching, conduit banks and thermally stabilised backfill
- Joint bays, cable hauling, jointing and termination
- Live cutovers staged around network outage windows
- Lightpoles, pillars and padmount substations
Our own crews, plant and method
The in-ground scope on an energised network is sequence-critical: service location and NDD potholing before mechanical excavation, trenching and boring, conduit and pit installation with mandrel, rope and CCTV proving, backfill and compaction testing, then cable hauling, jointing and cutover. Work is staged around network outage windows, with ITPs and hold points closed as the package proceeds. Flomar's Level 1 ASP accreditation supports this delivery on the Ausgrid and Endeavour networks.
Markets this serves
Plant & method
- Cable winches, trailers and drum stands
- Trenching and directional-boring plant
- NDD trucks for service proving ahead of the dig
