Project overview

The Kurri Kurri project adds battery energy storage on a greenfield site next to the existing zone substation, providing new storage infrastructure alongside the live Ausgrid network.

What Flomar self-performs

  • Pile footings, oil-containment pits with sumps, retaining and acoustic walls
  • Access structures - bridge and stairs to the existing substation, vehicular crossing and internal driveways
  • Stormwater and oil-containment drainage - pits, pipework, silt arrestor, retention basin and filtration pits
  • Earth-grid civils to NS222 and electrical conduits with fibre pit
  • Cable installation and testing to NS130
  • Security fencing, gates and reinstatement with as-built handover

Key quantities

  • BESS civil package
  • Greenfield site beside a live zone substation
