Project overview
The Argenton project adds battery energy storage within an operating Ausgrid zone substation yard, integrating new storage equipment and supporting infrastructure into a constrained brownfield network site.
What Flomar self-performs
- Bulk earthworks and demolition inside a live substation yard, including reuse of existing yard rock
- Pile footings for BESS, PCS, switchgear and kiosk equipment
- Concrete oil-containment pits with sumps, filtration pits and flame-trap drainage
- New stormwater drainage - pipework, pits, headwall and yard-rock washout
- Electrical conduits with concrete haunches, bedding and compacted backfill
- Earth-grid civils - buried copper conductor, earth electrodes and crushed rock to NS222
- Fire hydrant system extension (design, install, test and commission)
Key quantities
- BESS civil package
- Live zone-substation brownfield site
- Oil containment + NS222 earth-grid civils
