Project overview
Canberra Light Rail Stage 2A extends the existing route from the Alinga Street terminus to Commonwealth Park, forming the first section of the planned light-rail connection toward Woden.
What Flomar self-performs
- Cut and excavate CSR trenches for the main, local, irrigation and SCADA routes to design profiles
- Lay multi-way conduit banks with spacers, bedding, sweeping bends and bell mouths; mandrel-test and prove all conduits
- Supply and install precast and in-situ cable pits with lids and pit drainage to AS/NZS 3000 and AS 3996
- Conduit upturns and connections to wayside cabinets, metering switchboards, signal controllers, radio poles and overhead wiring masts
- Tie-ins to the existing Stage 1 CSR pits at Alinga stop
- Contractor-designed shoring and steel plates for deep trench and pit excavations
- Night-shift local-route road crossings with temporary pavement reinstatement
Key quantities
- 1.7km light-rail alignment
- Multi-way conduit banks + cable pits
